Why are introductory classes more than the others?
The value of beginners classes are higher than the others because of what is included in the package. Comparatively to other courses, teaching fundamental skills require more work from our instructors.
We understand that tuition can feel like a significant burden, but the reality is that higher tuition fees are often necessary to support the quality of education, particularly in terms of compensating our staff. -
Why are ceramics courses so expensive?
The high cost of ceramics classes is due to the expenses associated with materials (clay, glazes), the operation and maintenance of kilns, the need for specialized space and equipment, and the highly skilled instructors who guide the process. Additionally, ceramics requires a lot of hands-on instruction and multiple steps in the process, all of which contribute to the overall cost. However, the value comes in the form of high-quality instruction, access to specialized equipment, and the satisfaction of working with a medium that requires both technical skill and artistic creativity.

What is glaze?
Glaze is a crucial part of ceramics, both for aesthetic and functional reasons. It creates colorful, smooth, and durable surfaces while also protecting the pottery. The formulation and application of glaze are complex and require careful consideration of ingredients, firing temperatures, and techniques to achieve the desired result.

Can you guarantee that my pot will fire successfully?
While no one can guarantee 100% success in every firing, by following these best practices, you dramatically improve your chances of having a successful outcome. Ceramic firing can involve some trial and error, especially with new materials or techniques, but understanding the key variables helps you minimize risk and ensure your pottery is as successful as possible. Don't hesitate to ask your instructor or technician for tips or advice tailored to your specific piece, its always better to ask because there is no turning back the clock.
We really mean it when we say that there is no such thing as a stupid question.
